§1 Organiser, Organisation and Scope of Application

The Organiser is the support group for polymer development and plastics technology in central Germany – POLYKUM e. V. based in Merseburg (hereinafter referred to as the “Organiser”). The following General Terms and Conditions govern the contractual relationship between the participant in the online congress (hereinafter referred to as “Event”) and the Organiser. Deviating general terms and conditions of the participant are not valid. The company Vueworx LLC, 3880 Stratton Ln, Jacksonville, Florida 32221/ USA (hereinafter also referred to as the “Agency”), which has been commissioned by the Organiser with the implementation and execution, is responsible for the technical handling of the Event (participant registration, data management, streaming, server provisioning, etc.). The storage and processing of data is carried out in accordance with the requirements of the European Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Participant data and data of the streaming site as a whole are stored exclusively on servers in Germany.

§2 Registration and Confirmation of Registration

A contract for participation in the Event is concluded when the user fills out the registration form provided for this purpose and confirms the registration by clicking on a confirmation link sent to him/her by e-mail (double opt-in). Registration can only be made via the website www.biopolymer-germany.de set up for this purpose by Vueworx LLC and operated on behalf of the Organiser. After completing the registration process, the participant will receive a link to the e-mail address he or she provided in the registration form. By clicking on this link, the user can log into the event from approx. 30 minutes before the start of the event.

§3 Services and Pricing

A participation fee will be waived for the 2024 Congress. Registration includes the right to participate in the online congress. The organiser reserves the right to replace announced speakers with others and to make necessary changes to the programme while maintaining the overall character of the Event. Such changes do not entitle the participant to a refund or compensation. The right to cancel for economic, organisational, or pandemic reasons is reserved. A claim for compensation of costs and loss of work is excluded unless such costs arise due to grossly negligent or intentional behaviour on the part of the Organiser. In the event of any disruptions to performance, the Organiser commits to take all reasonable steps to remedy or eliminate the disruption.

§4 Cancellation of the Event

The Organiser may cancel the event at any time. In this case, the mutual services obligations of the parties shall cease to apply. The Organiser shall not be liable for any further compensation provided by the Organiser, such as transport tickets already booked (e.g. train, flight) or hotel costs, including any cancellation fees that may be incurred there, unless there is a case of intent or gross negligence.

 

 

§5 Participation Fee

A participation fee will be waived for the 2024 congress.

§6 Cancellation

Cancellations can be submitted by the participant at any time by sending an e-mail message to biopolymer@polykum.de. No cancellation fee will be charged. Passing on the participation link is only permitted if the actual participant updates his/her personal data.

§7 Right of Withdrawal

Since the services are provided free of charge and a free cancellation option is granted, there is no right of cancellation in this case.

§8 Copyright

All conference documents, presentations, lectures etc. are protected by copyright. They may only be reproduced, passed on or otherwise used beyond the scope of the event with the express written consent of the organiser or speaker.

The organiser points out that commercial image and video recordings will be made during the event and the supporting programme, which will be used for marketing purposes. The participant hereby grants the right to his/her own image – should this arise – with regard to the recordings made, as well as the right to use them free of charge and without any spatial or temporal restrictions.

§9 Liability

The speakers and authors, who have been carefully selected by the Organiser, are responsible for the content of the individual lectures. The Organiser and its representatives shall only be liable for loss or damage incurred in connection with participation in the event in the event of intent or gross negligence.

§10 Data Protection

The organiser protects personal data and will treat the data provided by the participant confidentially and only use it in accordance with the provisions of data protection law. Personal data is all data stored in connection with the name of the participant.

The participant’s personal data (first name, last name, e-mail address, etc.) will be stored by the organiser and the agency in the participant file and processed, used and – if necessary – passed on to service providers commissioned for this purpose for the purpose of providing the service and for invoicing. By submitting the data, the participant agrees to follow-up communication from the congress. The data will not be used for promotional purposes. The Organiser shall take the greatest possible precautions for the security of all participant data and shall not pass this on to third parties unless the participant has expressly agreed to this.

§11 Miscellaneous

The feminine form is equivalent to the masculine form in these GTC; the masculine form was only chosen for reasons of simplification.

is a collaborative network of plastic processors and applicators, machine builders, research facilities, universities and service providers with close links to the plastics industry.
The non-profit organization was founded in 2002 in the „Chemical Triangle Region“ of Central Germany.  The members today are located in all german regions with a strong plastics industry and abroad.
POLYKUM sees its key task in the support of science-, innovation- and technology transfer between plastic companies, scientific institutions and applicators.
